Day 2: My inspiration – DRAGONFLIES.
As I was digging into my paper drawer I found this beautiful printed origami paper. The beautiful orange dragonflies fluttering amongst the vibrant red grass gave me the idea of carving out a few of these beautiful insects. This is the first time I would be cutting dragonflies in my art work.

I started with a simple pencil sketch of the dragonfly on scrap paper to get a mental image of how I would like to cut it out.

And that’s it… I took the same printed origami paper, folded it in half and started cutting it length wise. This was a free hand cut work; I imagined the designed in my head and let my fingers lead the scissors towards the final piece.

I am thinking of incorporating this piece in a large frame with a gray scale background of lush fields.
